Born in 1994, Marisa is a Brooklyn-based painter with roots in the scenic expanses of South Florida's Everglades. Her artwork merges the natural beauty of sawgrass and beaches with an exploration of primitive formalism and abstraction, framed through themes of sexual femininity, depression, and the process of memory reinterpretation. Her practice celebrates the irregular, the crude, and the whimsical, creating a rich tapestry of emotion and thought.

Working primarily with oil pastels on canvas or panel, Marisa layers vibrant colors and textures, often incorporating objects to build a complex, introspective world. Her art grapples with the tension between anxiety and tranquility, aiming to evoke a profound sense of personal spiritualism and reconnect with the inner child through bold shapes and dynamic patterns.

Marisa views herself as an existential provocateur, crafting pieces that both veil and reveal deeper truths. Her work conjures a dreamlike space for infinite contemplation, inviting viewers to engage with their own inner landscapes and existential reflections.
